Elemental Shrines and Shrine Tenders

  1. How is a Tender selected?
    1. There are four Tenders. The Tender role is a volunteer role, involving a process where an individual may feel a calling or a pull toward a particular element, and then they may approach a current Tender to express their willingness and to get more information.
  2. What qualifications are needed?
    1. Willingness to tend the shrine daily.
    2. Know your elemental home.
    3. Confirm with Spirit that this is your calling.
  3. How long is the Tender in their role?
    1. A two-three year commitment is desired, but shorter times can be worked when other life issues may intervene.
  4. How often do the Tenders meet?
    1. Weekly calls that last approximately an hour for shrine tender activity.
    2. Weekly call for clearing and “Joy, Easy, Laughter” (JEL calls)
  5. What are the daily actions?
    1. Specifically, the individual Shrine Tender determines the daily actions. However, generally, a daily journey to the element is performed, honoring the element’s role, value, and place in the community. This journey is done along with daily altar practices.
    2. Weekly, the Tenders check for balance of the elements, and the results are emailed and then discussed during calls. If elements are out of balance, Tenders determine whether it is something they can do or whether it needs involvement of the community.
    3. As needed, actions in NOR or OR to bring balance to the elements or leadership of the LMCommunity in bringing balance to the elements.
  6. Why do community members work with the Shrine Tenders?
    1. For each element there are signs that it may be necessary to enlist the aid of a Shrine Tender. For example, you receive a message in a dream or a journey, or perhaps there is a stalemate in your process or life work that is causing personal blockage.
  7. How do community members work with the Shrine Tenders?
    1. For each element, Fire, Earth, Air and Water there are guidelines for approaching the Tender, and how to phrase questions and obtain clarity.  These guidelines can be found in Shrine Tender History.
