New Life Skills
“Life is a rush into the unknown. You can duck down and hope nothing hits you, or stand up tall as you can, show it your teeth and say “Dish it up baby, and don't be stingy with the jalapenos.” - Fireman's Fund Ad |
Beliefs, Illusions and Reality: Clarity in Times
of Change
The important thing to understand is this: you are unique in this whole universe. You have never existed before and you will never exist again. This is your “unique genius.” If you do not fully and passionately express this unique genius with your life, the Universe will never know itself in that way. We are all weakened by that loss.
Shamanic skills are most valuable in our time for giving us the tools to live passionately committed to our soul’s purpose without limiting the outcome to what we already know. They give us the skills to function with focus in chaos and the Unknown so that we can live our purpose without needing to know exactly what it is. When we can allow our unique genius to guide our life we come into right relationship with our self, with all others, with the environment, and with the spirit world.
“How the hell do I do that?” you might be asking. This is where the Trickster comes in if we are not paying attention. Where we are attached to the familiar, habitual, comfortable or addictive, we distort reality. The skills of the shaman are the ways that we see through this distortion and learn to act powerfully and gracefully in the world.
We explore the following in this class:
- Developing a working relationship with spirit.
- Learning to see how we distort reality.
- The skills, healing, and experience needed show up and step into your soul’s purpose every day.
- The keys to visualizing a life of meaning: crafting the vision and letting it go.
- Surrender. Giving the "making it happen" to the Universe.
- Empowered acts of trust.
- Action and understanding that we are only powerful in the moment
We are only powerful working with what is already here. That is why it is so important to learn to see the truth or reality as it is, not as we want it to be or confusing the truth because we are afraid. Reality is the only place we are able to affect change. We must unlearn judgment and learn to wield the sword of discernment. Discernment is essentially "what is reality in the moment and how am I called by Truth to respond to it?"
In this way we learn to surrender the future to the Universe. And in that surrender that the Universe will give you what you are calling out for better than you can imagine and in ways you could never imagine.
